Equality Florida Action PAC is proud to endorse Annette Taddeo for the upcoming special election in Senate District 40, Miami-Dade, on July 25!
This special election comes as Frank Artiles resigned from office almost two months ago. In 2015, Artiles introduced one of the most abhorrent and discriminatory pieces of legislation in Florida’s history, targeting the LGBTQ community. A similar “bathroom bill” plunged North Carolina into economic chaos last year, sending the national message that seeking to harm transgender people will not be tolerated.
That’s why we are proud to endorse a champion for equality Annette Taddeo for Senate District 40.
|About Annette Taddeo – Florida Senate District 40:
Taddeo’s connection to the LGBTQ community is personal. As a teenager, she witnessed the injustice of her sister coming out and stood up for her. Since then she has never stopped fighting for LGBTQ equality. In the late 90’s as the Chair of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, she joined a group of community leaders in Miami-Dade to reverse the harmful Anita Bryant discrimination and was a key leader in ending discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in Miami-Dade County. Taddeo has committed to fighting for statewide LGBTQ protections and she received a 100% on Equality Florida Action PAC’s candidate questionnaire.
